The Carthage College women's swimming team (5-0 dual meet record) continued their season-opening winning streak with a 156-109 victory over Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center.
Carthage's
Ashley Gladis (Fr., Batavia, Ill.) with victories in both the 200 breaststroke (2:29.68) and the 200 individual medley (2:15.12), led the Lady Reds.
Megan Shover (Fr. Prospect Heights, Ill./Arlington Heights-St. Viator) had a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle (25.53) and a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle (57.45) behind
Lisa Perdue (Fr. Whittier, Calif./Whittier) in second, and
Natalia Bialecka (So. Des Plaines, Ill./Park Ridge-Maine East) in first. The Lady Reds had a total of seven first-place finishes against the Titans.
Ember McCoy (So. Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley), with a victory in the 1,000 yard freestyle (11:06.00),
Susan Peinsipp (So. Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) with a first-place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:00.19), and were the other contributors to the Lady Reds triumph.
Carthage will compete next at the “Patrick Woehnker Invitational” at Wabash College on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m.
