The Carthage men's swimming team (3-2 dual meet record) took 12 first-place finishes on Saturday, Nov. 12 in a 137-96 win over Illinois Wesleyan University at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
Taking first in both the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.74 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.16,
Ryan Ortmann (Sr. Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) was yet again another major contributor to a Carthage victory.
Doug Schranck (Sr. Alton, Ill./Marquette Catholic), who took first place finishes in both the 200 butterfly (1:59.76) and the 100 butterfly (53.27). Teryn Solun (Fr. St. John, Ind./Lake Central) also won two events, taking first place in both the 1,000 freestyle (10:07.75) and 500 freestyle (4:57.94).
The Red Men will have their next appearance at the “Patrick Woehnker Invitational” at Wabash College on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m.
