Carthage College Athletics

2012:  Finished third in the 100 butterfly (51.38), fourth in the 200 butterfly (1:54.81) and seventh in the 200 individual medley (1:58.35) at the CCIW Swimming Championship…part of a CCIW-championship 400 medley relay team that equaled a Carthage record.

2011:  Finished second in the 200 butterfly (1:54.64) at the CCIW Swimming Championship, while taking third place in both the 100 butterfly (51.16) and the 200 individual medley (1:57.74)…named CCIW “swimmer of the week” after setting a Carthage record in the 200 butterfly (NCAA “B” cut time of 1:53.43) at the Dec. 3-4 “TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic.”

2010:  Qualified for the NCAA Division III Swimming Championship and competed in the 200 individual medley and both the 100 butterfly and the 200 butterfly but did not reach the finals in any of those events…won the 200 individual medley (1:56.16) at the CCIW Swimming Championship, while finishing second in both the 100 butterfly (50.53) and the 200 butterfly (Carthage-record 1:53.69)…part of a CCIW-championship 200 freestyle relay team…won the 100 breaststroke (1:02.73) at the Wisconsin Private College Championship…set a Carthage record in the 100 butterfly (50.05) in the CCIW championship preliminaries.

2009:  Finished second in both the 100 butterfly (50.32) and the 200 individual medley (1:56.03) at the CCIW Swimming Championship, while taking third place in the 200 butterfly (1:54.90)…part of conference-championship relay teams in the 200 medley and the 800 freestyle…finished second in the 500 freestyle at the Wisconsin Private College Championship…an NCAA “B” qualifier and school-record-holder in the 200 butterfly.

High School:  A three-time state qualifier…won a sectional title his sophomore year in the 100 individual medley and sectional championship his junior year in the 100 butterfly…coached by Katrina Hoefert…a four-time qualifier for the YMCA Nationals…a four-year member of the cross country team…National Honor Society member and honor student…coached by Bill and Nancy Miller for the Tri-City Area YMCA club team.

Personal:  Double major in business administration and finance…son of Charles and Julie Schranck…his older brother, Stephen, was a four-year All-CCIW swimmer at Carthage between 2006 and 2009…his twin brother, Andy Schranck, is a swimmer at the Missouri University of Science and Technology…named to Carthage dean’s list four times and a four-semester member of the Carthage athletic director’s honor roll…born June 14, 1990.
