The Carthage College women's soccer team (5-6-1, 1-1-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) evened its CCIW-record at 1-1-0 on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 8 with a 1-0 win over Elmhurst College (8-3-0, 0-2-0 CCIW) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. 

Carthage took a 1-0 lead at 16:05 first period on a goal by Michelle Sobey (Jr., Bull Valley, Ill./Woodstock), assisted by Alyssa Baker.  That lone goal held up, as Lady Reds goalkeeper Angela Spinelli (Sr., Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove-South) collected six saves.    Elmhurst out-shot Carthage, 12-6.  The Lady Reds travel to Wheaton, Ill., on Wednesday, Oct. 12 to take on CCIW-opponent and No. 3 Wheaton College (Ill., 12-0-, 1-0-0) in a 5 p.m. game at Joe Bean Stadium.
