Lady Reds Need a Win at Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday to Stay Alive for a CCIW Tournament Berth

The Carthage College women's soccer team (8-8-2, 2-3-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) concluded its home-schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 26 with a 1-0 loss in double-overtime to CCIW-opponent North Park University (7-8-1, 3-3-0 CCIW) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. 

Following two scoreless regulation periods, the two teams battle through a scoreless overtime period.  The Vikings won the game at 108:42 on goal by Emma Lundeen, her third goal of the year.  North Park's Katrina Dekirmendjiam was awarded a corner kick at 108:35, just prior to Lundeen's game-winning goal.
 
The loss left Carthage in sixth place in the conference standings, three points behind fourth-place Elmhurst College and two points behind fifth-place North Park.  The Lady Reds close out their regular-season schedule on Saturday, Oct. 29 with a 1 p.m. contest versus conference-opponent and No. 15 Illinois Wesleyan University (12-3-1, 4-1-1 CCIW) at the Neis Soccer Field in Bloomington, Ill.  Carthage needs a win over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, combined with an Elmhurst loss to Augustana College (Ill.) and a North Park loss to North Central College, also on Saturday, to qualify for the CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament.
