The Carthage College women's soccer team (5-7-1, 1-2-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to CCIW-opponent and No. 4 Wheaton College (Ill., 13-0-1, 2-0-0 CCIW), 3-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Joe Bean Stadium in Wheaton, Ill. 

The Thunder were ranked fourth in the Oct. 11 National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III poll and first in the NSCAA Central Region poll.  Wheaton took an early, 1-0 lead on a header goal by Keri Shannon at 5:41, assisted by both Jaime Orewiler and Katelyn Kishkunas.  The Thunder made it a 2-0 contest at 63:54 second period on corner-kick goal by Val Lelle, assisted by Shannon and Orewiler.  Wheaton closed out the scoring at 3-0 at 84:31 on a goal by Kaitlyn Le Baudour from 30 yards out.  The Thunder out-shot the Lady Reds, 36-3. 

Carthage travels to Decatur, Ill., on Saturday, Oct. 15 to take on conference-opponent Millikin University (6-4-1, 1-3-0 CCIW in a Noon contest at the Millikin Soccer Complex.
