The Carthage College men's soccer team (1-1-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) played Wisconsin-Oshkosh (2-0-1) to a 1-1 tie in double-overtime on Sunday, Sept. 5 on the final day of the UW-Oshkosh “Valley Cup” at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, Wis. On Saturday, Sept. 4, Carthage opened tournament play with a 3-0 win over Marian University (0-2).
In the Wisconsin-Oshkosh contest, the Red Men took a 1-0 lead at 40:08 first period on a goal by Tyler Cortez, assisted by Cesar Castanon. The Titans tied the game at 81:23 on a goal by Jesse Klein, assisted by Brian Miller. Carthage travels to Dubuque, Iowa, on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 11-12 to play in the Loras College/Wisconsin-Platteville Tournament at Loras' Rock Bowl. The Red Men play Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 4:30 p.m. and No. 16 Loras on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.
