The Carthage College women's soccer team (4-3-2, 0-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked eighth in the Sept. 21 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Central Region poll, opened its CCIW-schedule on Saturday, Sept. 25 with a 2-1 loss to Elmhurst College (6-1-1, 1-0 CCIW) at Langhorst Field in Elmhurst, Ill. The Bluejays were ranked seventh in the Sept. 21 regional poll.
Following a scoreless first period, Carthage took a 1-0 lead at 52:48 on a goal by Alyssa Baker (Fr., Lake Villa, Ill./Lakes Community), assisted by Katy Rosenbrook. The Bluejays tied the game, 1-1, on a goal by Kelsey Caldwell, assisted by Sarah Harvey at 55:20. Elmhurst made it a 2-1 contest at 66:28 on a goal by Erin Baschen, assisted by Amy Baschen. The Lady Reds play host to non-conference opponent Lake Forest College on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
