The Carthage College men's soccer team (4-4-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to the University of Chicago (5-2), 2-0, on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Stagg Field in Chicago. The Maroons scored both of their goals in the first half. Stanton Coville scored at 26:55, assisted by Cole Kroshus. Steven Chase scored the second goal at 34:20, assisted by both Daniel Hahn and Sawyer Kisken.Chicago out-shot Carthage, 21-6.

"Give a ton of credit to Chicago,” said Carthage coach Steve Domin.  “They simply outplayed us in the first half, as we struggled to get off the bus, both mentally and physically.  We made a nice little run at them in the second half, but it was too little too late.  We don't often don't get shut out or put more shots on frame than our opponents, but today we showed our youth."

On Saturday, Sept. 25, the Red Men journey to Elmhurst, Ill., to open their CCIW-schedule with a 3:30 p.m. game against Elmhurst College at Langhorst Field.  The Bluejays were ranked fourth in the Sept. 21 regional poll.
