The Carthage College women's soccer team (4-2-2, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked seventh in the Sept. 14 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Central Region poll, wrapped up play in its home “Battle on the Border Tournament” on Sunday, Sept. 19 by eking out a 1-0 double-overtime win over Clarke University (3-3-1) at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.
Following two scoreless regulation periods and a scoreless overtime, Carthage's Katy Rosenbrook (Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) broke the ice with free-kick goal at 105:00. On Saturday, Sept. 18, the Lady Reds played the University of Dubuque (3-3-2) to a 0-0 tie in double-overtime.
Carthage travels to Elmhurst, Ill., on Saturday, Sept. 25 to open its CCIW-schedule with a 1 p.m. game versus Elmhurst College at Langhorst Field.
