The Carthage College women's soccer team (3-2-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked seventh in the Sept. 14 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Central Region poll, lost to Carroll University (3-2-0), 2-1, on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at Schneider Stadium in Waukesha, Wis.
The Pioneers took a 2-0 lead in the first period. Carroll (Wis.) scored its first goal when Carthage tapped a ball into its own net at 13:15, and Kylie Ringelstetter scored unassisted, at 32:52. The Lady Reds' Rachel Jason (So., Deerfield, Ill.) scored her fifth goal of the season at 84:54 second period, also unassisted.
On Friday-Sunday, Sept. 17-19, the Lady Reds play host to the Carthage “Battle on the Border” at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. On Saturday, Sept. 18, Carthage plays the University of Dubuque at 5 p.m. before taking on Clarke University on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m.
