The Carthage College men's soccer team (1-1-2, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to Wisconsin-Platteville (2-1-1), 2-1 in double-overtime, on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Loras College/Wisconsin-Platteville Tournament at Loras' Rock Bowl in Dubuque, Iowa. Following a scoreless first period, Carthage struck first, with an unassisted goal by Mark Goldsberry at 50:36. The Pioneers' B.J. Gottschlich tied the contest with the first of two goals at 75:03 in regulation. After a scoreless first-overtime period, Gottschlich struck again with a goal at 108:43, just a minute and 17 seconds shy of the final horn. On Sunday, Sept. 12, Carthage takes on No. 16 Loras (3-2) on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.
