The Carthage College women's soccer team (0-0-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) opened its 2010 season on Wednesday, Sept. 1 by playing No. 22 the University of Chicago (0-0-1) to a 1-1 tie in double-overtime at Stagg Field in Chicago.
Chicago's Brigette Kragie scored the first goal at 6:57, and the Lady Reds' Rachel Jason (So., Deerfield, Ill.) tied the game with a second-period score at 64:05. Carthage travels to Oshkosh, Wis., on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 4-5 to play in the Wisconsin-Oshkosh “Valley Cup” at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. On Saturday, the Lady Reds play St. Mary's College (Ind., 0-1) at 1:30 p.m., followed by a Sunday contest versus Olivet College, also at 1:30 p.m.
