The Carthage College women's track and field team (29-14 outdoor record) finished fifth at the Saturday, April 24 Wisconsin-Whitewater “Jeff Miller Alternative Meet” at UW-Whitewater's Foster Track in Whitewater, Wis. 

Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the 11-team event with 207.50 points, followed by the host-Warhawks second at 180, Wisconsin-Platteville third at 79, Wisconsin-Madison fourth at 64, Carthage fifth at 53, Carroll University sixth at 47, Wisconsin-Parkside seventh at 31, Beloit College eighth at 30, Wisconsin-Stevens Point ninth at 25.50, Judson University 10th at 25 and Wisconsin Lutheran College 11th with nine points. 

Carthage's Ashura Jenkins (Jr., Aurora, Ill./Christian) won the 200-meter dash (25.58), while finishing fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.43). Julia Hiett (Sr., Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township ) was third in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles (1:08.83). Sarah Thompson (So., Byron, Ill.) took third place in the javelin (105-02) and fourth in the 100-meter high hurdles (16.44). The Lady Reds travel to Waukesha, Wis., on Saturday, May 1 for the Wisconsin Private College Track and Field Championship at Carroll University's Schneider Stadium, beginning at 11 a.m.
