The Carthage College women's track and field team (41-7), ranked 25th in the Feb. 3 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, finished fifth at the Friday-Saturday, Feb. 5-6 Illinois Wesleyan University “Bob Keck Invitational” at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Ill. Illinois Wesleyan won the 22-team event with 152 points, followed by Rhodes College second at 57, Monmouth College third at 54.30, Illinois-Springfield fourth at 50, Carthage fifth at 47, Illinois State University sixth at 37.40, Washington University (Mo.) seventh at 25, Loyola University (Ill.) eighth at 20, Millikin University ninth at 19, North Central College 10th at 11, St, Xavier University 11th with eight points, the College of DuPage 12th at 7.5, North Park University and Robert Morris University (Ill.) tied for 13th with seven points each, Elmhurst College, Illinois College and Judson University tied for 15th with six points each, Trinity University 18th with four points, Beloit College 19th at 3.4, Trinity Christian College 20th at 1.4 and Aurora University tied for 21st place with Saint Louis University with one point each.

Carthage's Ahvia Greene (Jr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won the weight throw (56-0) for the second-straight week. Sarah Thompson (So., Byron, Ill.) took second place in the pentathlon (2,934 points). Mindy Harrington (Jr., Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond-Burton) finished third in the shot put (40-6) and fifth in the weight throw (51-1). Christine Nelson (So., Rock City, Ill./Dakota) finished fourth in the pentathlon (2,863 points). The Lady Reds travel to Romeoville, Ill., on Friday, Feb. 12 for the Chicagoland Indoor Track and Field Championship at Lewis University's John F. Kennedy Sports Center, beginning at 5 p.m.
