The Carthage College men's soccer team (7-5-1, 1-1 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) shut out non-conference opponent Carroll University (5-5-1), 2-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis.

The Red Men took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Zak Khoshbin (Jr., Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich), assisted by Vladimir Schlageter, at 18:02. Carthage added a goal in the second half by Mark Goldsberry (Sr., Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township), assisted by Rafal Zalewski.

“It was nice to get back on the left side of the score sheet again,” said Carthage coach Steve Domin. “Winning the last three out of four feels good. Despite the result, it was probably our worst effort of the season, but playing flat and still getting a result is the sign of a good team. We have to clean up the rookie mistakes because we've got Wheaton coming to town next week.”
