The Carthage College women's volleyball team (16-5, 4-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), tied for seventh place in the Oct. 5 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, defeated CCIW-opponent Elmhurst College (10-8, 2-2 CCIW), 3-1, on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. The Lady Reds' winning set scores over the Bluejays were 25-15, 16-25, 25-21 and 25-15.
Carthage has won eight-straight matches and 12 of its last 13 contests. With the win Carthage also extended its CCIW record to 48-straight regular-season conference victories going back to 2003.
Outside hitter Michelle Madeja (Jr., Naperville, Ill.,/Neuqua Valley) had 13 kills and hit .263 with 18 digs, while right-side player Rachel Swoboda (Sr., De Pere, Wis./Wrightstown) had 10 kills with a .308 attack percentage. Setter Drewann Pancratz (Jr., Schaumburg, Ill.) collected 38 assists.
On Saturday, Oct. 9, the Lady Reds play host to Trinity International University (Ill.) at Noon and No. 2 Juniata College at 7 p.m., also at Tarble Arena.
