The Carthage College women's swimming team (4-4 dual-meet record) lost to Wheaton College (Ill.), 156-106, on Saturday, Jan. 23 in a dual meet at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
Carthage's Michelle Pelka (Jr., Elgin, Ill./Elgin Academy) won three events, taking first place in the 100 butterfly (59.58), the 200 butterfly (2:09.69) and the 200 individual medley (2:13.71). Amanda Croix (Jr., Bradley, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) won both the 100 freestyle (53.43) and the 200 freestyle (1:56.98), while finishing second in the 500 freestyle (5:17.62).
Lisa Tiltges (Jr., St. Charles, Ill./Aurora-Rosary) finished second in the 1,000 freestyle (11:26.97) and third in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.92) and Jensena Paul (So., Portage, Wis.) was second in the 200 backstroke (2:19.39). The Lady Reds play host to the Wisconsin Private College Swimming Championship on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center, beginning at Noon.
