Carthage Women's Soccer Edged by North Park, 5-4, on Sept. 26

The Carthage College women's soccer team (4-6, 0-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to CCIW-opponent North Park University (4-5, 1-2 CCIW), 5-4, on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Holmgren Athletic Complex in Chicago.  North Park led, 2-1, at halftime.  The Vikings' scored the first two goals, with Sara Hakanson scoring at 1:58, assisted by Everly Ban, and Emily McWilliams scoring at 24:14, assisted by Sarah Hansen.  Carthage's Kelsey Harrington (Jr., McHenry, Ill./West) made it a 2-1 contest with an unassisted goal at 30:11.  Harrington's second goal, also unassisted, at 47:30 made it a 2-2 game in the second half.  The Vikings came up with three unanswered goals to take a 5-2 lead.  McWilliams scored her second at, also assisted by Ban, at 62:26.  Faith Kakembo scored, assisted by Carolin Love, at 69:26, and Ban scored, assisted by Kakembo, at 72:49.  The Lady Reds closed the gap to 5-4 in the final 13 minutes behind Harrington's third goal, unassisted, at 77:43 and a goal by Shannon Chesna (Sr., Fond du Lac, Wis.) at 85:46.
