The Carthage College women's basketball team (7-1, 0-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked 14th in the Dec. 15 Women's Basketball Coaches Association/USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division III poll and 24th in the Dec. 8 “D3hoops.com” poll, outlasted Concordia University (Wis., 5-3), 74-62, on Monday, Dec. 14 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.  Concordia (Wis.) led most of the game, with Carthage taking control only in the final four minutes.
 
The Falcons led by five points at halftime, 34-29, after leading by as much as eight points, 19-11, at 8:13.  Concordia (Wis.) still led by eight, 55-47, at 6:58 second period before the Lady Reds took the game over.  Carthage used a 9-0 run to take a one-point lead, 56-55, at 4:08.  Following a tie and a lead change, the Lady Reds went up, to stay, 58-57, at 3:22 on a layup by Rosie Dorn.  Carthage extended its lead to 12 points at the game's end, 74-62. 
 
Carthage shot 54 percent (28-52), while Concordia shot 42 percent (24-57).  The Falcons out-rebounded the Lady Reds, 36-31, and turned the ball over 23 times to 18 for Carthage.  Four Lady reds scored in double figures.  Dani Ripkey (So., Deerfield, Ill.) had a career-high 21 points on eight-of-11 field goals, including four-of-six three-pointers, three of those in the final 4:08 of the game.  Diana Jacklin (So., Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) had 14 points and four rebounds.  Heather Gilmore (Sr., Des Moines, Iowa/Pleasant Hill-Southeast Polk) scored 13 points with five boards, and Katie Klemke (Sr., Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) chipped in 11 points with a career-high seven assists.  Pearl Wallace and Tiffany Hendrickson had 12 points each for Concordia.  Carthage plays host to Coe College (4-4) on Monday, Dec. 21 in a 6 p.m. game at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis.
