The Carthage College women's volleyball team (17-2, 4-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked sixth in the Oct. 6 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, swept CCIW-opponent Wheaton College (Ill, 9-11, 1-4 CCIW), 3-0, on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha, Wis. Carthage's winning set scores over Wheaton were 25-20, 25-13 and 25-20. Michelle Madeja (So., Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led the way in Carthage's 3-0 sweep of Wheaton College (Ill.) on Oct. 6 with 18 kills in three sets and a .485 attack percentage. Drewann Pancratz (So., Schaumburg, Ill.) averaged 11.67 assists per set, and Katie Lundgren (Sr., Long Grove, Ill./Lincolnshire-Stevenson) averaged 5.67 digs. Carthage travels to Elmhurst, Ill., on Tuesday, Oct. 13 to play CCIW-opponent Elmhurst College in a 7 p.m. match at R.A. Faganel Hall.
