The Carthage College men's soccer team (3-7-4, 2-3 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to CCIW-opponent Elmhurst College (10-3-2, 5-0-1 CCIW), 4-2, on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 18 at Art Keller Field in Kenosha, Wis. Carthage took an early, 1-0 lead on the first of two goals by Aleks Urosevic (So., Skokie, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola-Academy) at 12:59. Elmhurst tied the contest at 17:55 on a goal by Luke Froehlich, assisted by Matt Sterner. The Bluejays made it 2-1 at 37:56 on a goal by Brian McMahon, also assisted by Sterner. The Red Men tied the contest, 2-2, just before halftime on Urusevic's second goal, assisted by Tyler Cortez, at 44:45. The Bluejays' Keith Thurman scored what proved to be game-winning goal at 53:00, assisted by Randy Warren. Elmhurst tacked on a final goal by Jon Brehm, unassisted, two minutes later at 55:00. The Red Men play host to CCIW-opponent North Central College (7-8, 2-3 CCIW) on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in a 7 p.m. game. also at Art Keller Field.
