Ray Knight joined the Carthage College Athletic Training staff in Fall 2026. He oversees athletic training coverage for football, men's volleyball, and men's and women's golf.
Ray brings more than 20 years of collegiate athletic training experience to Carthage, having previously served at Sewanee, Marietta College, and Valparaiso University.
Knight earned his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from East Tennessee State University and completed his graduate assistantship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he worked with the football and men's basketball programs.
An active member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), Knight has served in leadership roles within the Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society and the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association. In 2008, he was named the Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society College Athletic Trainer of the Year.
Knight and his wife, Shannon, have five children: Sara, Adelyn, Cooper, Clara, and Grayson.
