Andy Bax completed his fourth year as head women’s water polo coach in 2015 (31-30, 4 years) after serving as a Carthage student assistant coach in 2010 and 2011. Bax was named the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s NCAA Division III “Coach of the Year” in 2014 with a 10-5 record and a third-place finish at the CWPA Division III Championship.
A native of Naperville, Ill., and an all-state high school water polo player at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Ill., Bax was a four-year member of the Carthage swimming team between 2006 and 2009. He earned All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors three-straight years from 2007 to 2009. Bax still holds the Red Men’s record in the 50 freestyle and was part of school-record relay teams in the 200 medley, the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle.
He was named 2008 and 2009 College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American. Bax graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s in elementary education and special education.
