Zachary Shawhan was named an assistant coach for both the Carthage men’s and women’s golf programs in the winter of 2022. Shawhan graduated from Carthage College in May of 2022 with summa cum laude honors, and majored in business management & marketing, finishing with a 4.0 grade point average. Additionally. Shawhan spent four years as a member of Carthage’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
During his time at Carthage, Shawhan was an accomplished member of the men’s golf team. A member of the program’s top-ten in career scoring average, Shawhan was a two-time team captain, three-time all-conference honoree, four-time academic all-conference honoree, two-time academic all-american honoree, and winner of the CCIW’s “Elite 25” Award - all culminating in an individual conference championship victory in 2021. Zachary was the 12th golfer in program history to win an individual conference title, and first since Matt Meneghetti won in 2017-18.
Zachary was born and raised in the state of Wisconsin and attended high school in Racine.
