Dave Rivera is in his his 25th season as a Carthage part-time assistant softball coach in 2022, after serving as Amy Gillmore's assistant at Kenosha St. Joseph High School from 1995 to 1997. He, along with Gillmore, were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Great Lakes Regional "Coaching Staff of the Year" in 2013. Rivera was also a member of the Carthage College staff that claimed "2016 CCIW Coaching Staff of the Year."
From Kenosha, Wis., Rivera attended Kenosha Tremper High School and received his bachelor's degree in international studies from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 1993. He is currently a human resources manager for Spherion in Lake Bluff, Ill.
