2014:  Tied for second place in the high jump at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship (6-10 ¼)…named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Midwest Region “Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year”…won the high jump (7-2 ¼) at the CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the third-straight year…cleared a Carthage-record 7-2 ½ to finish second in the high jump at the Drake Relays and named both U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III “national athlete of the week” and CCIW “athlete of the week”…won the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship (7-0 1/4)…won the high jump (6-9 ½) at the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championship for the second-straight year…named CCIW "athlete of the week" on Jan. 28…set a Carthage indoor high jump record (7-0 ½) at the Feb. 7-8 "Red Invitational" and named both USTFCCA honorable mention "national athlete of the week" and CCIW "athlete of the week."

2013:  Tied for 14th place in the high jump (6-6 ¾) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship…won the high jump (6-11) at the CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship…named CCIW “athlete of the week” on April 16…named CCIW “athlete of the week” a second time on April 30 after setting a Carthage record in the high jump 6-11 ½ at the April 26-27 Drake Relays…finished second in the high jump (7-0 ¼), on a tie-breaker, at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship…won the high jump (6-8 ¼) at the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championship.

2012:  Won a national championship in the high jump and matched his Carthage-record of 6-10 ¼ at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship…set a Carthage record in winning the high jump (6-10 ¼) at the CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship…finished seventh in the high jump (6-1 ½) at the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championship.

2011:  Finished ninth in the high jump (6-2) at the CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

High School:  Did not participate in high school track and field…two-year member of both the basketball and cross country teams.

Personal:  Accounting major…member of the 2011-13 Carthage basketball teams…brother of Tim Shorts, who lettered on the 2001-03 Carthage basketball teams.
