Carthage College Athletics

2014:  Finished fourth in the shot put (Carthage-record 55-11) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship…qualified for the national discus but did not place…finished first in the hammer throw (178-5), second in the shot put (53-8 ½) and seventh in the discus (147-4) at the CCIW Outdoor Track and field Championship… finished fourth in the shot put (55-5 ¾) and sixth in the weight throw (Carthage-record 62-0 1/2) at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship…won both weight throw (57-3 ½) and the shot put (53-3 ¾) at the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championship and was named “field athlete of the meet”…named CCIW “athlete of the week” on Feb. 18.

2013:  Finished ninth in the discus (168-9) and 12th in the shot put (52-11 ½) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship…named “field athlete of the meet” at the CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a win in the shot put (52-10), a second-place finish in the hammer throw (170-3) and third in the discus (149-8)…set a Carthage record in the discus with a 171-4 toss at the Augustana (Ill.) “Twilight Invitational”…finished 10th in the weight throw (57-3 ½) at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship…named “field athlete of the meet” at the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championship after winning both the shot put (Carthage-record 55-1 ½) and the weight throw (59-11 ¼)…named CCIW “indoor field athlete of the week” on Feb. 19.

2012:  Finished 18th in the shot put (51-0) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship…finished second in the shot put (52-5 ½) and seventh in the discus (133-2) at the CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship…finished third in the shot put (50-7 ¼) and seventh in the weight throw (51-9 ¼) at the CCIW Indoor Track and Field Championship.

High School:  A state finalist in the shot put his senior year and set school records in both the discus and the shot put…a three-time first-team All-Bay Conference honoree in the shot put…coached by Kevin Souss…in football, named second-team All-Bay Conference his senior year and honorable mention all-conference as a junior…member of the wrestling team his sophomore year.

Personal:  Exercise and sport science major…offensive lineman on the 2011 Carthage football team.
