Michael Hay begins his second year as a graduate assistant coach in 2013-14. A native of West Chester, Pa., Hay attended Lehigh University, where he was a four-year letterwinner and team captain for the Mountain Hawks. Hay graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s in accounting.
He served as an assistant coach for Villa Maria Academy High School in Malvern, Pa., in both 2010-11 and 2011-12, and helped lead that team to back-to-back Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Division AA state titles. Hay also served as an assistant coach at the Upper Main Line YMCA during the 2011-12 season. With Upper Main Line, he helped the Otters to a sixth-place finish at the 2012 YMCA national championship. Hay is also a program coordinator with CollegeSwimming.com and working on his master’s in education at Carthage.
