Carthage College Athletics

Dave Roehl begins his 19th year as Carthage College's head men’s golf coach in 2020-21.  

Since taking over head coaching duties in 2002-03, Roehl has produced 40 All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin players, six Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Central Region honorees, three GCAA All-American selections and six CCIW/Jack Swartz All-Academic players.

Tyler Wollberg (2006) and Matt Meneghetti (2018) both took medalist honors at the CCIW Men's Golf Championship under Roehl's guidance, and his 2006 and 2007 Red Men teams both won conference titles. Roehl's 2007 squad landed a berth into the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, where the Red Men finished tied for 10th place with a four-round score of 1,247. 

Roehl coached both the boys basketball and baseball at Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, Wis., from 1979 to 1998.  Roehl, a long-time private golf instructor at Brighton Dale Golf Links in Kansasville, Wis., also served as Carthage’s assistant men’s basketball coach for nine years between 2004 and 2013 following a four-year stint as a part-time assistant coach between 2000 and 2003. 

Roehl has served a pair of three-year terms on the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship Committee, the first from 2006 to 2008 and the other from 2012 to 2014. A native of Menasha, Wis., Roehl attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where he graduated in 1977 with a bachelor's in physical education and health.
