2014 Season Review
The Carthage College men’s cross country team (77-69) finished fourth at the 2014 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Cross Country Championship at the Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth, Ill.  North Central College won its 48th league title and its 41st in a row with 17 points, followed by Augustana College (Ill.) second at 70, Wheaton College (Ill.) third at 80, Carthage fourth at 120, Elmhurst College fifth at 124, Illinois Wesleyan University sixth at 165, North Park University seventh at 212 and Millikin University eighth with 228 points.
 
The Cardinals took the top-three sports, with Ryan Root taking individual honors with a time of 24:05.90.  Carthage’s Michael Von Borstel (Sr., Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) led the Red Men with a 10th-place finish and a time of 24.42.78 and earned first-team All-CCIW honors.  Dan Cotton (So., Carol Stream, Ill./Bartlett) was 23rd at 25:42.35 and was named “freshman of the year.”  Matt August (So., Mokena, Ill./New Lenox-Lincoln Way East) was 31st at 26:13.68, Camren Howard (So., Olympia Fields, Ill./Chicago Heights-Marian Catholic) 32nd at 26:15.35 and Caleb Jenks (Sr., Sullivan, Wis./Hartland-Lake Country Lutheran) 42nd with a time of at 26:42.15.  Other Red Men finishers included Paul White Jr. (Jr., Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove-South) 45th at 26:56.00, Kevin Plazak (Sr., New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) 47th at 27:22.57, Charley Nelson (Jr,, Neenah, Wis.) 54th at 27:42.79, David Fish (So., Downers Grove, Ill./South) 57th at 28:05.87 and Donald Rowe (So., Wheaton, Ill./North) 60th at 28:40.46.
 
The Red Men finished 16th at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championship at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis.  Carthage’s Michael Von Borstel was 76h with a time of 25.55.20 and Dan Cotton 79th at 26:04.20.  Caleb Jenks finished with a time of 26:58.90, Camren Howard at 27:09.80, Matt August  at 27:15.10, Kevin Plazak at 27:19.20 and Paul White Jr. at 27:23.30.

2015 Season Preview
Head coach Josh Henry (77-69, 1 year) returns 20-of-21 letterwinners from last year's team, including All-CCIW honoree Michael Von Borstel and conference "freshman of the year" Dan Cotton.  The Red Men compete in five meets prior to the conference championship:  the Concordia University (Wis.) "Ken Weidt Classic," the Wheaton College (ill.) "Gil Dodds Invitational," the University of Minnesota "Roy Griak Invitational," the Wisconsin-Parkside "Lucian Rosa Invitational" and the Wisconsin-Oshkosh "AAE Invitational."  Carthage will play host to the CCIW Cross Country Championship at UW-Parkside's Wayne E. Dannehl National Course in Somers, Wis.
