NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced its Men's Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday, recognizing Carthage senior outside hitter
Ryan Bartz as the conference's Hitter of the Week.
A native of Muskego, Wisconsin, Bartz guided the No. 2-ranked Firebirds to a 2-1 mark during a three-match road trip. He compiled 38 kills, averaging 4.75 per set, while hitting .385 across the week.
Bartz delivered 21 kills in a four-set matchup against No. 3 Stevens and followed with 15 kills on a .333 hitting percentage in a straight-sets victory over No. 12 Vassar. He concluded the week with 41.0 points, 13 digs and four blocks.
Carthage starts the week playing UC Santa Cruz on Februrary 13 at 7 p.m.
