WARENVILLE -  The Carthage women's cross country team traveled to Warenville, Illinois, Saturday morning to compete in the Wheaton Gil Dodds Invitational. The Firebirds resulted in the top five finishers in the top 100 out of 222 runners in the field. The squad snagged a ninth place finish out of 18 teams. 


 
The Firebirds came in ninth place with 238 points.

U Chicago won the meet with 17 points, scoring all five runners in the top 10.


Jessie Pakaski led the Firebirds in 35th place, crossing the line with a time of 23:55.50.
Camryn Lau crossed for the Firebirds next in 41st place, in a time of 24:03.20. Kylie Florance clocked in a time of 24:26.20 for a 53rd place finish. In a time of 25:03.90, Natalie Forward placed 72nd. Virginia Litwiller rounded out the Firebirds' scoring in 92nd place, with a 25:29.70 finishing time. 


The Firebirds return to action on Saturday, October 3, as the squad is set to compete in Colfax, Wis., at the UW-Eau Claire Bluegold Invite, hosted by UW-Eau Claire. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
