JANESVILLE - The Carthage College men's golf teams brought a solid start to the links Friday and Saturday to start the 2025-26 season. The Firebirds brought two teams, placing sixth and seventh out of 21 teams. 


Nick Barry and James Trachsel led the red team, both carding a total score of 148. Barry shot 71 and 77, Trachsel recorded 76 and 72. James Tyrrell recorded 74 and 76, finishing at 150. Alek Lechuga scored 153 with scores of 79 and 74. Logan Westman rounded out the team with 81 and 78, ending with 159. 

Ethan Frasch led the black team, carding a total score of 148, shooting 78 and 70. Dallas Torres carded rounds of 75 and 75 for a total score of 151. Scoring right behind with a 152, Joey Luna recorded 80 and 72. Brett Vandergrift recorded 79 and 75 for a finish of 154. Rounding out the Firebirds, Ryan Jermier shot 84 and 76, ending with 160.
