LEXINGTON — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division III All-America teams, with three Carthage College men's volleyball student-athletes earning national honors.
Outside hitter
Owen Otto headlined the selections with a spot on the AVCA All-America First Team. Senior outside hitter
Ben Heise earned Second Team honors, while setter
Ryan Morey was named Honorable Mention All-America.
Otto led the Firebirds this season with 344 kills, averaging 3.58 per set. A two-time College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week, Otto was a CCIW First Team selection and earned AVCA All-Region honors. He also played a key role in the postseason, earning a spot on the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.
Heise capped his campaign with 260 kills and a 2.71 kills-per-set average. A two-time CCIW Hitter of the Week, Heise was named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team and collected AVCA All-Region recognition. He was also a CCIW First Team honoree.
Morey, a four-time CCIW Setter of the Week, distributed 884 assists this season, averaging 9.31 per set. He was voted the CCIW Setter Student-Athlete of the Year and was named to the AVCA All-Region Team.
Carthage finished the season 23-4 and 9-1 in conference play making it all the way to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
