ORLANDO – The Carthage men's tennis team competed in a nationally ranked matchup against the Kenyon Owls on Tuesday morning. The Firebirds battled hard, but ultimately fell to the Owls 7-0.

 

In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krzewinski were defeated by Paulo Pocasangre and Alejandro Gonzalez 6-3. Cooper Ferruzzi and Francisco Silveira fell to Eric Zhang and Joshua Finkle 6-4. Cyriac Cayuela and Finn Morris were bested by Gianluca Bocanegra and Rohan Sriram with a 6-3 score.

In singles play, Krzewinski fell to Pocasangre 6-2, 6-1. Silveira dropped a 6-0, 6-2 match to Gonzalez. Briand fell to Juozas Cioladis 2-6, 6-1, (10-8). Ferruzzi fell to Zhang 6-4, 6-2. Cayuela dropped a pair of 6-1 losses to Finkle. Diego Silva fell to Rakkan Audeh 7-5, 6-3. 


 
The no. 40 Firebirds (6-4) will return to action on Wednesday, March 12 as the team faces off against no. 5 Case Western Reserve at 8 a.m. and Piedmont at 6:30 p.m. est. Both matches will take place at Oak Street Park in Kissimmee, Fla.
