Carthage Men’s Wrestling Falls Short in Tight Dual Against Aurora

KENOSHA — The Carthage College men's wrestling team came up just short against Aurora on Thursday night, falling 23-18 in a tightly contested dual.

At 125 pounds, Chris Kish pinned Nicholas Hinojosa just 51 seconds into the match, giving an early 6-0 lead.
Competing at 133 pounds, Tyler Evitts pinned Zach Miller at 2:13, leveling the team score.
In the 141-pound bout, Jake Penzato secured an 8-2 decision over Cole Nelson, earning three points.
At 149 pounds, Ashton Massaro claimed a 14-5 major decision against Elijah Zepeda, adding four points.
Zaren Anderson rebounded at 157 pounds with a 9-4 decision over Austin Abitua, narrowing the gap.
In the 165-pound match, Austin Martin defeated Leo Kiser in a 6-1 decision, contributing three more points.
Wrestling at 174 pounds, Collin Ruiz achieved a 6-3 decision over Emanuel Diaz, adding three points to the score.
At 184 pounds, Alton Mullinax earned a 10-4 decision over Devin Rogers, increasing the lead by three points.
Diego Fuentes claimed victory at 197 pounds by forfeit, adding six points to the total.
In the heavyweight matchup, Cam'ron Harper defeated Mason Kochersperger in a 14-5 major decision, earning four points to seal the 23-18 victory.
In an exhibition 157-pound bout, Joey Barnett edged Shane McEntee in a thrilling 17-12 decision.
