KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage men's tennis team hosted Millikin at Smeds Tennis Center on Friday evening. It was a strong day for the Firebirds, as the team came away with a shutout victory over the Big Blue.

 

In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krezewinski defeated Cole PHillips and Theodor Wolf 8-3. Cooper Ferruzzi and Francisco Silveira earned an 8-2 win over Esteban Durand and Matthew Kordesh. Diego Silva and Luca Okino won by forfeit.

In singles play, Silveira defeated Phillips 6-2, 6-0. Silva beat Wolf with a pair of 6-2 victories. Okino defeated Kordesh 7-5, 6-2. Miles Whelan earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Durand. Ferruzzi and Marco Czosnyka both won by forfeit.


 
The Firebirds (19-4) will return on April 20 to take on Illinois Wesleyan at Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha. Action begins at 12 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
