Women’s Cross Country Competes at Carleton

NORTHFIELD - The Carthage College women's cross country team continued their season at the Carleton Running of the Cows meet Saturday morning. The Firebirds competed against a strong field of 21 teams. The Firebirds battled through the 6,000-meter course, placing 13th as a team and one individual in the top 50.

The Firebirds came in 13th place with 365 points.

Carleton won the meet with a total of 56 points and all five of their runners finished in the top 30.
 
Who Led the Way
 
Kylie Smith led the Firebirds with a time of 23:48.0 in 45th place. Kylie Florance crossed the finish line next, in a time of 24:01.0 in 57th place. In 89th place, Jessie Pakaski crossed the line with a time of 24:56.5. Leela Desharnais recorded a time of 25:17.4 in 110th place. Rounding out the Firebirds, Melany Alfaro ran a time of 25:55.9 in 148th place. 
 
Up Next

The Firebirds will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Wisconsin Private College Championships, hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin. Action is scheduled to begin at noon at the Concordia University Wisconsin Cross Country Course in Mequon, Wis. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
