"There are a lot of outstanding college golf programs in the deep South, so one of the draws to coming to Dallas to play in a tournament such as the Texas Cup is to see some of the very best Division III teams in the country," noted Carthage College's director of golf and head men's golf coach
Jay Christiansen.
"With so many ranked teams in this tournament, I thought we represented ourselves very, very well. This is our first week playing real golf since October, so to come in under 320 on both days is excellent.'
"Alex [Lilly] was very good on day one, and both Tanner [Angelstad] and Colton [Sigel] were very good on day two. Those three sophomores are talented young men, and their mental improvement from last fall to now is already paying dividends."
"It was a very successful spring break week of practice and team growth. We will get back, add a few of our other guys who weren't able to make the trip, and see if we can't surprise some people this spring."
- Men's golf will hit the links again in two weeks, heading to Oak Brook, Illinois for the Bluejay Spring Invite - hosted by Elmhurst University. The invite will take place on Thursday, April 6 at Oak Brook Golf Club.
