KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage college men's golf team took second and fourth place as they hosted the Carthage Spring Invitational this Tuesday afternoon at the Kenosha Country Club.

The single-round tournament today also doubled as the team's Senior Day, where seven senior golfers on the Firebird roster were recognized for their contribution to the program throughout their career.

The Firebirds 'A' team combined for 310 in second while the 'B' scorecard shot 315 to take fourth in the 13-team field. Marian University shot a tournament low 303 to finish at the top of the leaderboard, while Edgewood college shot 311 to land in third.

Freshman Alex Lilly led the way for the Firebirds, shooting a personal-best 71 (+1) and placing second individually in the field of 75 golfers. Senior Tyler Muschewske shot 75 (+5) to tie for eighth, followed by fellow senior Zachary Shawhan tied for 14th. Seniors Austin Young (78+8), Jared Christensen (80+10), and Kevin Healy (81+11) rounded out the Firebird 'A' scorecard.

Freshman Charles Gneiser (Indiv.) tied for 21st with 79 (+9), while freshmen Tanner Angelstad and Colton Sigel (Indiv.) carded mutual scores of 80 (+10) to tie for 24th. Cole Hanson (Cole Hanson) and Keegan Oberding both shot 81 (+11). Alex Green and Gabriel Lapapa rounded out the secondary scorecard with 83 (+13) and 85 (+15) respectively.
