PLANO, Tx. — The Carthage men's golf team finished in eighth place at their first spring event, shooting 298 in round two to card a total of 598. Seniors Zachary Shawhan and Jared Christensen led the Firebirds as they placed T-16 while carding 148 (+4). The pair had identical scores both days of play with 73 (+1) yesterday and 75 (+3) this afternoon.

Tanner Angelstad chipped in 74 (+2) this evening to total 149 (+5) and tie for 22nd. Tyler Muscheske, Alex Lilly, and Kevin Healy all carded 152 (+8), while Austin Young chipped in 78 (+6) today to card 151 (+7) for the tournament. Alex Green shot 154 (+10) in his two rounds.

The Firebirds will compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Rose-Hulman next weekend in Lebanon, Ind.
