PLANO, Tx. — The Carthage men's golf team opened their spring season this Saturday afternoon on day one of the 2022 Texas Cup at The Courses at Watters Creek in Plano, Texas. The team shot an even 300 (+12) to place eighth of 16 teams.

Seniors Zach Shawhan, Austin Young (Indiv.) , and Jared Christensen (Indiv.) led the way for the Firebirds, shooting 73 (+1) and tying for seventh place. Tyler Muschewske, Tanner Angelstad, and Alex Green (Indiv.) all shot 75 (+3) to finish 31st. Kevin Healy shot 77 (+5) and Alex Lilly 78 (+6) to round out the top five for Carthage.

The second and final round of competition begins tomorrow, March 20th at 8 A.M in Plano, Texas.
