ORLANDO, Fla. — The #39 Carthage college men's tennis team capped off their spring break trip in Florida 5-0 this Friday afternoon as they swept the Transylvania Pioneers 9-0.

Cooper Ferruzzi and Andre Antreassian opened the match on court two with an easy 8-1 win. Court one duo Daniel Moore and Yanozie Amadike followed 8-2, and Myles Krzewinski and Nicolas Welker closed 8-3 on court three to give the Firebirds a 3-0 advantage heading into singles.

Ferruzzi won an even 6-1, 6-1 on court five in singles, followed by Nick Marino with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court six. Krzewinski capped off court three at 6-2, 6-0, while Welker claimed court four 6-1, 6-1. Moore closed out court number one 6-2, 6-2, before Amadike battled out a 6-7, 6-3, 10-6 tiebreaker win on the remaining court to secure the sweep for Carthage.

"The teams battled some tough conditions today," said head coach Brady Lindsley. "Not only playing a tough team in Transylvania but the temperatures were in the low 90's. The kids played great! It was a good way to end a very successful trip for both teams."
