Game Recap: Women's Water Polo |

Firebirds Drop Home Doubleheader to McKendree

KENOSHA, Wis. — Playing in their first home games of the season, the Carthage College women's water polo team fell to McKendree 24-5 in game one and 25-7 in game two on Saturday. 

In game one, McKendree (5-1) started with a 4-0 lead before Sydney Logan got Carthage (0-6) on the board with a goal. In the third, Meghan Fisher tallied a goal at the 7:16 mark then Taylor Woitesek got in the score column with a goal at 4:20. The Firebirds added goals in the fourth from Sarah Lowery and Sophie Flott

The visitors took a 2-0 advantage to start game two until a goal from Logan cut the margin to 2-1. Gladys Contreras found the back of the net in the second as Logan netted two just before the halftime break. Victoria Hodges scored at the 1:25 mark of the third as the Bearcats went on to win the game. 

Carthage returns to the pool for the Claremont Convergence Tournament which starts on Friday, March 4 at 10:15 a.m.
