Women’s Bowling Sets School Record on Day Two of Flyer Classic

JOLIET, Ill. — The women's bowling team set a new school record on their second day of the Lewis University Flyer Classic tournament after dropping 1,016 pins in their second game of the day. The team has qualified for the championship round of the tournament and has improved to fourth overall.

Game no. 1 saw the Firebirds defeat conference opponent Illinois Wesleyan, winning 889-597 before moving on to their record-setting second game. After defeating Carroll 918-850, the team would drop their last two games of the day against Lewis and Maryville. They finished with 4,587 total pinfall on the day.

The team's wins today improve their placement to fourth among all teams, after beginning the day in fifth place. Tomorrow they bowl the no. 3 seed Alabama Birmingham in a best of seven baker match to determine who will advance further in the championship bracket.
