Women’s Bowling Starts Flyer Classic 4-1

JOLIET, Ill. — The Carthage women's bowling team began their first of three days of play at the Lewis Flyers Classic this Friday afternoon, finishing 4-1 in baker matches on the day. The Firebirds currently hold fifth place heading into day two tomorrow evening.

The team began the event against North Central, winning 816-781 in their first bout, before falling to Valparaiso 926-859 in round two. The Firebirds would finish out the day 4-1 overall by defeating Augustana, Quincy, and Aurora in their last three baker matches.

Carthage dropped 4,536 total pins for their first day of competition, with an average of 181.4 per game. They currently sit in fifth place, and are scheduled to play five traditional team games tomorrow afternoon.
