Firebirds Defeat Illinois Wesleyan at Home

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College men's swimming and diving team picked up a 190-99 the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) win over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. 

The Firebirds picked up 12 victories on the day as Mitchell Mages won the 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard butterfly, and 200-yard breaststroke. Adam Moskus and Ben Keller each had two race wins as Moskus won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle while Keller took first in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke. Paul Busse clocked a first-place time of 4:18.13 in the 400-yard individual medley while Lucas Rognrud won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.20. 

Mages and Moskus joined Conner Hwang and Christian Snyder as the relay team won the 200-yard medley finishing with a time of 1:35.69. 

In diving events, Sam Wallace won both the three-meter and one-meter competitions. 

Carthage returns to the pool on Friday, January 28 for the Wisconsin Private Championship with diving events taking place on Friday followed by the swim events on Saturday, January 29.
