Women's Golf Falls to Whitewater in First Dual Match of the Season

MILTON, Wis. — Carthage women's golf traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater this Monday to compete in the Match Play Challenge at the Oak Ridge Golf Course in Milton, Wisconsin. The Firebirds competed in four matches during the one-day event.

In the first 'Best Ball' event, the Whitewater team defeated the Carthage duo of Madi McCoy and Sami Plankey. The second Best Ball match would feature Kate Munro and Sarah Schuster, and Carthage would again fall to the opposing team. The Firebirds would go on to drop the remaining two matches, which consisted of a singles match by Alina Brindza and a scramble featuring Alana King and Katie Wachowiak.

Carthage heads to Normal, Illinois this weekend to play in the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling at Illinois Wesleyan University. The tournament is scheduled to start Saturday morning at the Ironwood Golf Course.
