DECATUR, Ill. — The Carthage College softball team continued the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play on Saturday falling in game one 7-0 and 10-3 in game two against Millikin at Workman Softball Field.
Millikin (14-6, 11-3) got on the board first in game one in the third with two runs. After adding a lone run in the fourth, the Big Blue scored two more runs as the home team took game one 7-0.
In game two, after Millikin scored two in the second, Rylee Johnson drove in two with a single for Carthage (3-5, 1-3 CCIW). In the fourth the Big Blue added four and four in the fifth to go ahead 10-2.
Izzy Hernandez singled to right field which allowed
Donna Stevens to score in the fifth making it 10-3. Millikin went on to take game two 10-3.
The Firebirds stay on the road facing North Park on Monday, April 3 at 3 p.m.
